Most of our insurance products are available to all EU and Non EU residents. Pilots residing outside Austria, Germany and Switzerland please refer to the English pages and click for more detailed information on the appropriate item in the list below. There you will also find application forms, which you should fill out and forward to us by mail or as scan per email.
Your special advantages for choosing AXA and our Insurance Agency for Air sports are:
• Your coverage will be activated as soon as the completed application form arrives by mail or email and we receive the insurance fee quoted (free of banking fees to us). In urgent cases please transmit a bank statement to prove transfer.
• You may also use VISA, MasterCard or PayPal to pay the insurance. In this case we have to add a “payment fee” of 4% (minimum EUR 5,—) to the amount due. For payments from countries outside the Eurozone please add EUR 10,— in case of a bank transfer or EUR 6,— when paying by PayPal to cover additional bank fees that are charged to us. For security reasons we recommend to inform us about CC details (number, expiry date) separately by Email and SMS.
• Please remember that we need the serial number of your glider – or of the main canopy/wing if a parachute - to activate 3rd party liability insurance. Due to aviation regulations 3rd party liability insurance cover is bound to the glider/wing as stated in the policy. Therefore other pilots who are entitled to use the glider/wing are also covered.
• In case of change of a glider/wing please inform us about type, serial number and year of manufacture. We then alter your insurance policy and send you the new document. There is a EUR 10,— charge for such alterations, which can be paid together with the next insurance premium. Same fee apply for issuing and resending a duplicate.
• If you want to add another glider/wing to your insurance - up to 3 gliders/wings for personal use are possible - please proceed as mentioned above (only avaliable with the 3rd party liability insurance for non-motorised solo gilders/wings).
• We will send all documents (including an English translation of your policy) to you by post – upon request this also can be done by Email.
• Weekend fast coverage service: Handling of coverage within 24 hours on public Austrian holidays and on weekends (Friday 12.00h to Sunday 24.00h) is available for a service fee of EUR 50,—
• Your insurance contract will be valid for one year only, so therefore no official termination applies to stop insurance after this year.
• Several weeks before the expiry of your existing insurance contract you will receive a renewal offer, with all the necessary documents included. If you wish to prolong your insurance just pay the premium requested and your contract is automatically extended and the documents valid. Should you miss the payment date or if you do not get any renewal offer – please contact us by Email!
• In case of an incident/accident referring to your insurance please inform us urgently! See below "Procedure in event of a claim”
